    Heh.

The assumptions in this thread kill me.

Dang - you're rad. Get on witcher bad self. What we're talking about here is degree of difficulty. Yes, I've freeclimbed climbed 5.7's. Shit, I've climbed 5.10's (obviously not solo) but I'm sure that's chicken feed to a wallcrawler of your daunting caliber. I no longer climb... I do not need to justify that to you or anyone.

I was also approached way back in the day to be a spokesmodel for GrenTec Skateboards in Germany, since somehow they got our pictures we sent them of my buddy and I skating in Munich's Olympic Park in '74 with boards our Dads brought back from the states. Did I huck the Great Wall? No, but then again neither did you. I can also run, that doesn't mean I am the World's Fastest Man or can complete an Ultramarathon.

..and yes, I would like fries with that, bitch.

oh wait. I already said that.

If you want people to beleive you, you are really going to have to work on the lingo.
Next time, take more than an hour to respond, and do a little research first.
    "spokesmodel"?
    "freeclimbed climbed"?

Your ignorance just keeps getting funnier!

when you talk about skiing, do you say things like:

    "yah, I've done a halfpipe"

    or

"I just got a pair of twin trick skis for the snowboard park. I guess they let skiers in there now"

    or

"yah, I'm a spokesmodel for Swatch"

Well, imagine if he had flipped upside down on the takeoff, thrown his skateboard, and landed on his head on the ramp. After sliding to the bottom of the transition (semi-conscious) someone helps him to his feet and he throws his arms in the air claiming "SUCCESS!"

That would have been pretty lame, huh?
Good thing skateboarding is held to a much higher standard than skiing. Otherwise Jamie would have been working at McDonalds for the past 10 years.

Oh, and Glen Plake once used the term "Dude Boots" on his RSN show (I'm guessing they wouldn't let him say "fruit boots"). Damn near fell out of my chair!

umm i don' tknow how long you've been on this site, but since whe is jamie our choice for raddest skiier? i'f you haven' tnoticed in EVERY thread about him everyone give him shit for not landing his rediculous hucks.
is danny jumping the wall (did he trick or just air it?) radder than seth stomping a back of an 80 foot cliff, or candide pulling an 810 to rail? or hugo charging a rediculously tech AK line while airing out cliffs? the list goes on dude, my point: picka new example because jamie is not our favorite

dang and tipp, although your dick waiving is cool and all, it doesn't help this arguement in the least. i don't fucking care how nice either of you are at skating, climbing, midget wrestling, whatever. i thought we were arguing about which sport was better, not which of you

yeah, and getting back to the original purpose of this thread, that rail was RIDICULOUS, all fruitbooting aside. oh and dang, way too much negativity coming from your posts - smokey is a passivist, dude. oh, and curling is by far the most technical of all sports.

When skiers adopt those qualities, we will no longer be considered gay.

I seriously can't understand how tippster could suggest that skiing is radder than skateboarding.
WELL MY DICK IS 48 INCHES LONG AND PEOPLE CALL ME JESUS.

    I WIN.

........seriously man, if you know anything about skiing, read this post and carefully consider what defines "talent and strength and determination," drop a 245 foot cliff, then you can come flop your dick on the table. Jamie is by no means the best, most talented, or smoothest skier, and I myself have no desire to emulate the things that make him famous,

    but this shit.........

p.s. that rail was nuts, and the car tow to double stair switch landing was pretty hardcore too.

Yeah, skiers do some rad things too. Just don't go bagging on another sport, when YOUR sport doesn't require any real talent or skill.

Skiing is easy folks. Even skiing at an expert level.
Ever try doing a kickflip down a flight of stairs? My guess is that 99.999999% of the people on this forum don't even possess the skill to ollie, yet they possess the skill to talk shit about another sport.
Skateboarding is for pussies, son. When you're old enough to legally buy a pack of smokes, you'll figure that out.

    On the contrary.

    Here’s the definition of ignorant:
Lacking education or knowledge. Showing or arising from a lack of education or knowledge: an ignorant mistake. Unaware or uninformed.

If you go back and check out the history of my posts, you’ll notice that I originally created this alias as an anonymous way to inquire about the ethical behavior of being a sponsored skier.
(After that I kept using this alias because I injured myself, and being a troll was a great way to pass the time. And now I certainly won’t revel my true identity, so don’t ask.)

But I think that shows I have quite a bit of knowledge on this subject. Quite the opposite of ignorant, wouldn’t you say?

Tell me, good4nothing, how many ski companies wanted to sponsor YOU this season?
    Right.
In addition to that, I pursued snowboarding at a semi-professional level in the ‘90's, and I skateboarded quite a bit for nearly 20 years. Never got that good, but used to compete a little when I was a teenager.

I think that makes me educated and knowledgeable on this subject. Quite the opposite of ignorant.

Tell me, good4nothing, how long did YOU skateboard for?

If your knowledge is based on watching ski movies, and surfing the TGR forum, then I’m pretty sure that makes you ignorant. No big deal. You’re not alone.

Just don’t go running your mouth about something, if you don’t know what you’re talking about! And don’t accuse people of being ignorant, IF YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT YOU’RE TALKING ABOUT.

actually, when I was in diapers, people were still riding around on banana boards, calling it "sidewalk surfing". Or so I am told.
Are you trying to imply that nollie shoveits are somehow "old school"?
I guess that sums up YOUR knowledge on the subject
    OH SNAP!

By the way, that "OH SNAP" comment just gets funnier and funnier and funnier. Kinda like calling someone a JONG, or the "switch to the road" thing.
Damn. People on this board are just SOOOOOOO original with their insults and comebacks.

And runethechamp, I already know you never pursued skateboarding, and can't comprehend the level of agility and talent it requires. You kinda just made yourself look like an ass, but that's pretty common around the Teenton Gravity Forum. So don't feel bad.
Oh yeah, you hear about skateboarders dying doing kick flips on the front steps of the local OB/GYN all the time....you never hear of skiers dying. Skateboarding has to be more 'core. If I see another emaciated teenager smacking his board on the ground because his friend kick-flipped his board and landed on it after trying 1 billion times, I'm going to go strangle the little fucker.

Was that your attempt at a response?

I just completely shut you down, so you try to save face by changing the subject?

In the future, you would be better off not responding at all. Response like that make you look like even more of an idiot. And responding with "I know you are, but what am I" won't work either.

You're saying skateboarding is more difficult (AND 'CORE) than skiing.

Besides Danny Way, none of them have ever gone as big as skiers, so the risk isn't there. That means it's easier. It's pretty tough to practice at a sport where if you fuck up you'll break your neck. Worst case scenario doing your super duper rad kick flip is spraining your ankle......puuleease...

    Speaking of missing the point...

You didn't shut anybody down, kid. What you did was sit in front of your computer and blow a lot of smoke. Are we supposed to take your bullshit as gospel because you've skateboarded for 20 years and were a semi-professional snowboarder and you took Mike Tyson the distance and and and... but you won't tell us who you are, we just have to take your word for it. Well, I'm the fucking King of England; you'll just have to take my word for it.

    Idiot.

What a load of crap. Danny Way had a team of engineers building his fucking jump, using all the materials and angles he had worked out in the past so that nothing was left to chance.
What WC racers and top freeskiers do every single time they hit the hill makes Danny Way's little tricks look like a four year old jumping off the swingset--except there's more uncertainty for the four year old. Try flying 300 feet through the air over a water-injected frozen 40 degree slope and tell me skateboarding has anything even remotely close--it doesn't.

And suddenly skateboarding is gay as hell.

And Dang remains a total moron, shut down completely in every response to his posts.
