Who's taking an Avy 1 course this Spring?
I've read my books, practiced with my more experienced bros and I know my local areas well - but it's time for formal avalanche education so I can feel a little more ready to explore places outside of my backyard.
I am not going to be working for a few months and would love to get my avy level 1 course done soon. I have a couple things on the calendar in March (including the Summit!), but it seems like no classes are being offered in April, so I should get this done. Anybody else taking their avy class this March? I'd be stoked to take a class with another magg.
I've checked the listings on the teletips avy course forum and I hope there are more going than what is listed there. Any suggestions on where else to look? My preference would be to take a class somewhere close enough that I can get there and stay in my van, so BC, WA, OR, CA, NV, ID, MT or UT are the prime candidates. Suggestions and/or links to good operations would be appreciated.another Handsome Boy graduate

Anybody taken the course offered by North Cascades Mountain Guides? www.ncmountainguides.com
Steve House works there, so I am pretty sure it must be a great operation. they are having an avy 1 course the last weekend of the summit that I am considering attending. Any thoughts? Any joiners?another Handsome Boy graduate

My course with North Cascades Mountain Guides was very good. It was great that it was such a small class and the people were all really chill. I learned a ton and enjoyed myself.
