    here's my contribution.

The skier I'm thinking of took it straight from the top of the chute and hit the up side of this one going more lookers right to left, absolutely launched.

    Bad News, feb 24th '07

Didn't straightline into the lower cliff, sent it from the gap in the trees at the very top and landed below the lowest rocks. Look closer at the pic, you'll see what I mean.

I was just looking at that, your pow-trail is clearly from the top. My bad, still and awesome air. Did you happen to straight-line to the lower cliff a week later?

Nope, broke my thumb on the landing and was out the rest of the season. Worth it though, you should see the full size high-res version of that pic.

If you're going to hit the lower cliff, I'd suggest pointing it straight across and hitting the same ridge, but above the lower tree. It's a steep takeoff, but if you take it with some heat, gives you a great flight path with a much less-travelled landing zone. Just watch out for people hitting the Finder above your LZ. (Don't let Xover pack the lip for you, you will die.)

Maybe in a while, it's still "out for consideration" if ya know what I mean. And for the record, I blew up. Phunk, however, backflipped it nearly as big the year before and stuck it. Fuck that guy.

Yeah, but there was like 20 more feet of snow in the gut (in fact, that whole lower cliff band was gone), and he barely hiked to the ridge for the inrun, freaking wuss.

(I'm still annoyed with myself that I didn't send anything that day, so I guess I'm the bigger pansy)

Oh, and too bad someone didn't get a good pic of that phUnk huck.

    You and me both.

Of course, had someone not taken 5 hours to psyche himself up, I would have shot from a cool side angle, but I got bored (and numb) standing off to the side and started walking around and talked myself into the stupid place I ended up taking it from.

First of all I know its not a very good picture, but whatever. I’m pretty stoked on this air I did today because it was about 40 feet and I’m 40 years old. It felt so good to get some half decent air, the past few years I have backed off on airing big and just doing smaller ones. Had a sweet day this is the only pic we took today. I haven’t snowboarded for about 5 years, just skiing a ton, I‘ve boarded about 10 days this year and skied 80. Feels good to ride it makes me feel young and want to do shit like this.

This thread fucking rules, some great pics in here.

That post made my day. (Only) 34 here and just in the same situation with snowboarding...I'd like to do it more (in right conditions). Only one board day this year. But seems like I have time I'll try to remember to send 40 footers on a board when I 40!(and, yes, huge props to that! surely there are guys in their forties out there but take your avarerage office rat and ask him to do that...you'll see some carnage for sure!)

Mashed Potatoes caught me at Granite's Lower Diving Board. A step off a curb by TGR standards.
