ice climbing guiding outfits in Canmore area?
I guess this goes in Tech Talk (Beeyatch)
any suggestions for guiding companies to check out for a day of personalized instruction/ice climbing in the Canmore area? Web research reveals On Top and Yamnuska as a couple promising guiding outfits. Anyone have any experience with these or others to share? My wife and I have good foundation of basic mountaineering skillz, I have tried a little ice, but want some focused, personalized time with a reputable guide. Thanks!

You can try Yamnuska:
http://www.yamnuska.com/
They are probably the most established outfit in the Canmore area. Barry Blanchard guides for them on occasion.
There's also http://www.polarisguiding.com but I don't know much about them.
There's also a bunch of freelance guides in the area. The Association of Canadian Mountain Guides site has a list, I think:
http://www.acmg.ca/
Here's where you can search for an ACMG guide:
http://www.acmgguides.com/
That should get you started. Let me know if you need more info.

You could try mountainguide.com for a listing. Also check with the Alpine Club of Canada as they maintain a listing of qualified guides too.
It's not so much the model year, it's the high mileage or meterage to keep the youth of Canada happy
