INSERT Snowbird Pics From Today Here!
I'll have some up shortly.
What a day! Started with a great position in the canyon line (about 15th) and hauled A all day 'til 4:30 (thanks Scully, for getting me started on full days again).

What...the pics won't be worth looking at unless it did?

Oh, the answer was no. But Mineral did. It's kind of a new thing this season, opening Mineral late in the day rather than saving it for the next day. I like it.

Sounds like tomorrow will be the time to eat up baldy and the bookends.
I left at about 1:30 for school, and I herd this interesting rumor...
It went something along the lines of "oh man, massive slide down road to provo, it was so big it uncovered a bunch of dirt and land! They might not open it this year!"
Sounds like a small slide with a lot of bullshit, anyone notice this?

Wow, don't know about the slide. It wouldn't surprise me. There are some awful layers underfoot this year.
These 3 pics are all I have time for. I hope others took some shots today.

That slide off of road to provo was insane. I watched it from the lift. I seriously wish there was vid of it, oh man. Fracture line atleast 200 ft, all the way down to the grass, went all the way down to almost the lift. It was nuts to see it just take out and throw huge trees like they were toothpicks- I have never, ever seen a slide that big. Let alone THERE. Everyone on the lift was yelling, I heard a tourist behind me getting scared it was going to take out the lift. I think he was considering jumping.

nah, nobody hurt... It was all controlled, just a LOT bigger than expected. Seeing all those slides is sketching me out about going out touring this week.

So I guess I shouldnt have doubted my friend, because he was right. That fracture was huge! I could see the dirt even after a night of light snow. A friend of mine said it was one of Snowbird's biggest inbounds avy on record. I wish I could have seen it, musta been incredible.
Oh and the snow? Today was nice, I found lots of good snow in the Gad Chutes.
