    is this:

Loveland -- the cow town on the plains by Fort Collins, in Larimer County

    or

Loveland -- the ski hill on the way to Summit County by the Eisenhower Tunnel?

As long as it still means going to NZ for school I'd do it.

If you were from the east coast, i would definitely tell you to move there... however, you are from WASHINGTON STATE. Don't tell anyone else, but there is some good skiing here.

Seriously, you live in wenatchee. You are spitting distance from stevens. Whistler isn't far away. Crystal is relatively close. Baker is close, too... why move? If you are only thinking about it from a skiing standpoint... you have some world class skiing right here in the PacNW. Plus, you get to ski with Bison every now and then, and he's a great coach.

Loveland's actually a pretty cool community. Lots of artists, writers etc.

But it ain't no ski town.

    yessssss,

this is where i grew up. i cannot give it a ringing endorsement.

loveland is now suburban sprawl merged with fort collins, which is, to my mind, a superior town (at least it has CSU, etc).

yes it is close to RMNP, this is good. it is fairly close to skiing, but a bit further than boulder/denver (which are, again, superior).

my parents got smart and moved to boulder, so i rarely go back to loveland.

but i guess it depends on what your alternative is...

Nope. The town of Loveland is two hours from the ski area Loveland. Totally different places.

    we're too far from skiing

I would probably go with not, if you live in WA. Loveland is about 15 minutes south of Fort Collins, where I live. On weekend mornings I get up at 4:30 am to beat the I-70 traffic up the mountains. It SUCKS- I am getting really sick of that drive. Fortunately I only HAVE to be here for one more semester.

But... what's this about NZ?? When are you going? I just got back from spending 6 months there, that place ROCKS. There is better than here; go there instead.

Not on here much anymore. Drop me an email if you want to contact me. Have a wonderful winter!

wow that drive sucks. right now I have a 20 minute drive to the mountain.
I've been looking into going to college in NZ. I'm gonna major in marketing/business managment. Hows the skiing on the north island? The south island looks better but thier aren't many colleges there. I found round trip tickets down their for $1200. So I'm saving up to take a trip to check it out.
