Mounting Freerides in Boulder, and toe shim question
So, this has been discussed a lot. I've skied on Freerides enough to know the "just a little bit back" feeling. Now I'm mounting up my own pair, and I'll put them 1.5 forward of center, I think.
Here's my question: If I start with the toe shim in place, can I remove it later if I want to play with the angle, or will that fuck stuff up?
Also, where in the People's Republic should I head to get this done? I'd really prefer not to head down to Golden, but I will if no one has a recommendation for a place in town. It's idomatic, beatch.

Neptunes. They do them there.
I'm wondering if 1 cm forward without the shim is actually the best of both...
Sort of wishing I'd done it that way in the first place. Gives a little ramp angle and doesn't change/decrease the way the skis ski much. The 1.5-2cm range is pretty noticeable, I found out.
Particularly if you're going to be skiing much in alpine boots, I'd caution against going to far forward at first...
I dunno, it's a bit of a guess either way. Is the ski a little on the aggresssive side for you, or right on? If the former, maybe 1cm up with the shim out? Latter, and maybe just the shim out, but right on the mark?
I dunno, I'd like to hear more from others too...Thrutchworthy Production Services

The AT boot thing is what I'm most concerned with, I think. If I put 'em forward 1 or 1.5 and leave the shim in for now, can I drop it out later if I want a more agressive stance with an AT boot?
It's idomatic, beatch.

If you're going up to WP, I can put you in touch with some folks with extensive freeride mounting experience.
