Canadian Rockies Summit?
I know a few years back a bunch went down to Castle. I couldn't make that one.
I know a few years back the big summit was in Fernie, but I couldn't make that one either.
Is there any talk of a mini Summit here in the Canadian Rockies? I know there's a bunch of us on here. I've stood behind a few of you guys in the Standish lift line last season on a deep day, but I never asked for change.
The mini would only have to be a day at the Lake or day at Sunshine (spent in The Dive). Any takers? I'm not much for organizing stuff, but I figured I'd ask. I'm too lazy to use the search function.

I'll be in Canada most of February, based in Nelson. My brother and I might be up for a road trip, who knows. I wouldn't mind visiting KH, for sure. Not so sure about the Lake or Sunshine. If you cross-posted on biglines you'd probably get a bunch of interest from there (although you'd have to make sure xxxx didn't turn up).

I'd be in for any weekend and most weekdays aren't out of the question. It would be good to have a few more numbers so I don't end up skiing alone so much on the days when I skip work.

Beginning of the second run ever down with mtnlion: "Hey guys, I don't know if you want to follow me. I don't know what's down here"
This disclaimer made after the first run that ended up with him airing out some nice rocks and generally making it look easy while several others had to pick and choose their way down with the aid of some mighty cursing. Good times.
I am always around at the lake. I am pretty sure I am patrolling again this year. Keep an eye out for an uncoordinated giant on misery sticks.
Incidentally, I was chatting with Zrinko the other day. He was saying that the front chairs are ready to roll for opening day. I didn't ask about the back. The far lift will be removed an replaced the following year. The far side will be cat skiing only this season (these are the plans at the moment, it may change tomorrow or yesterday). He plans on having 2 cats with trailers = capacity of 40 each I think. Each cat trip will cost a twoonie. There will be 3 drop points: baldy, double bogey, and I can't remember the other one.
On oct 15 the road will be chained but he is trying to do something about changing it.Recently overheard: "Hey Ralph, what were you drinking that time that you set your face on fire?"

Yah, it was on the spine. I went my own way but a couple of the others got stuck due to a poor decision: they turned instead of straightlining and got stuck in that narrow crux.
Mex, I am sure that something will happen over the winter. I am sure it will be like last year. On thursday a thread will start and on the sat or sun we will meet at the top of the Top if it is at louise and then we will go skiing. We albertans are very easy going with schedules and that sort of thing.

I'm a weekend only person since I'm at school in Edmonton... And there's a chance I'm moving to Svalbard in January... But if not, I'd be in....
On a semi related note, I'll be around causing trouble the weekend of Nov 11th assuming hills open... and causing mass chaos at the Drake Nov 10th...

I may or may not be down for a summit depends on work and how busy I am. I'm already plannign a trip to Utah plus as much midweek at Castle as possible so it might be hard to get away. Now as for midweek at Castle I'm down for anytime and have couch space in Lethbridge if anybody needs it.

Is anybody interested in going to Whistler for the Summit? Thinking about it but sans family.

I might have a line on something from a friend. I also have a contact in the world of central reservations.

I've got a sister in Abotsford which is as close as you can get to Baker on the Canadian side. Could use as a base on way there/back to hit the PNW places.
