Having done some late April trips to Abasin from new England...
    I'm going to Arizona.
Spring slush skiing is fun for a few days but gets old unless you are partying.
Or go ski snowbird for a few days then drive into the desert for some biking for a few days.

I await the posts from Dex when he heads to TRide for this trip, only to discover that they are closed.

For reelz, it's definitely a possibility. But so is basically every other place mentioned, so...(Not Maine, not Killington, not Jay Peak...)

Yeah, I saw that that was the focus. Need to try that out (and about 100 other cool Euro spots) one day. Still kicking myself over that great S-ton day I probably could've made work a few years back...some day, man!!

Yeah, I think there may be a bit of confusion related to the dates for that forecast that got put up...which of course is relevant, but unfortunately doesn't quite coincide with my dates.

    MT.

Big Sky area had highest listed total projection that I saw, and I've got a place to stay, so...am prepared for some driving if it looks worthwhile and viable, but will be based around Big Sky. Never been and have wanted to go for a long time.

Thanks for all the input, mags. Much appreciated.

Well if it's good enough for Norseman it should be good enough for you. Make a turn or two for me Dex.

If you have a car and Discovery Basin, just West of Butte, has decent coverage, it's worth a day or so. Ski Limelight.

Duly noted. Considering the source on this advice will go out of my way to give it a shot (any reason coverage might not be adequate?).

No idea how they do things there, but yeah, probably too risky--wouldn't want to fuck shit up for you. I actually don't personally know anyone who's had an issue doing that, but I've overheard lifties talking about catching people, and the way passes work now makes it tougher than it once was, IMO. I'm already not paying for housing/car (which I hadn't assumed would be the case) so kind of playing with house money, and I don't hate Boyne, so...thanks anyway.

I'm honestly pretty psyched about this (woulda felt the same about probably a dozen other places mentioned here). Have wanted to ski there for a few decades...and to this point my only MT skiing occurred in June/July, so very eager to see what it's really about.

FYI Discovery lists their closing day as April 7. I don't recall them ever being very flexible about it.

I'll be at BS midweek when you are there, pm if you want to spin some tram laps.

Ok coverage on the backside steeps at Disco. Frontside has some runs closed due to meltout.

Give me a buzz if you head that way. Might be able to meet and ski for a bit.

Or go to Bridger if Disco is closed by the time you're ready. Looks like BB extended to 4/14.
