DIY Freeride Spacer
Looking to add an ATK-esque freeride spacer to some Marker Alpinists AND MTN's.
ATK discontinued the universal AL05 spacer....so it seems I'll have to go the DIY route.
Does anyone have a more elegant solution than using a cutting board or some misc plastic? Would love some micro adjustability that the shims in the ATK model provide.Last edited by EricB; 03-18-2024 at 06:28 PM.

I used an AFD from an old look p14. With an Mtn with no heel track, it was the exact right height. I cut the baseplate of the toe piece in half so there were two screw holes with the AFD. Super clean, doesn’t hold snow.
Many other AFDs offer a good solution too.

if you have contacts/access to someone in Italy there's still plenty shops carrying the original AL05 at a great price as well.

pretty small mom-and-pop kind of shop but totally legit.
I'm currently using a pair of AL05 and purchased an extra set for 25 euros.

A note on the Al05: I used a 1/4” spacer on my heel and still had to sand down the base to make it work with the Marker Alpinist.

I’m using the ATK universal spacer with my Alpinists and skorpius II boots, had to adjust it down to nearly the lowest setting but fits fine. However it’s a bit too tall with my Maestrale boots.
Know of a pair of Fischer Ranger 107Ti 189s (new or used) for sale? PM me.

I have a brand new set of atk universal spacer AL05 I’m willing to part with. Let me know.
