Definitely wasted my morning sitting in the Mt Ellen base lodge not skiing.

I’m so glad I was up early and in line at 7:45.

Definitely plenty of power trucks and dangling power lines when I was on the way out.

Stowe reported 8” and that seemed accurate. Water content through the roof. Woods were the best bet, anything skied compacted into cement. I got to ride up with a guy who was on a bluetooth call the entire lift ride. I would’ve preferred shitty music on a blue tooth speaker.

hmm... what's that say for tomorrow's operations?

    (^^skipping the harsh for now:~(...

K1 lodge started the day with no power and got quickly resolved. All other ops were running in my travels. Skier traffic moderate. The winds kept threatening, but never took hold. Same with the wet. It mixed for an hour+ and now back to snow and temps dropping.

Thiccc... piled up too quickly on any pitch. Not much semblance once the base got exposed. Still, it was fast and creamy along the lee favored tree lines.

wore liners all day it was so warm. Viz was an issue up high.

Groomed with fresh snow will probably be the am ticket. The edges? shoot

    Cannon skiing well. No wind.

Met up with @dangur for some short hike laps for mittersill cream cheese.
    Maybe like 6"?
Not the 14" she wanted, but better than all rain

Based on the wind forecast, no.

Great day with Peruvian and Doremite, very dynamic conditions. No visability = no pics.

It will be interesting to read the report about the 20yr old woman in Tuckerman. Sounds like conditions were horrible and if that bad what route did they ascend? And were they above the lip? Assuming yes for that tragic of a fall. Going thru all the scenarios in my mind on what could have happened up there.

    good today, if heavy.
Gore called it 10 at the base and 20 at the summit.

It was deep enough to ski trees all day. Quite a nice surprise.

Up top, in the trees, it wasn't manky.

    Very sad re Tucks, RIP.
Way back when a buddy and I climbed Left Gully with no gear, it turned super hard above the dogleg and we barely scratched and clawed our way to the top. Was pretty terrifying with rocks below.
Again vibes to the F&F of the victim and hope the other two heal up quick.

This am was amazing at stowe. Woods filled in and trails scoured to the groom. One run was all I could manage before work, but sounds like it is all shut down by the wind. Might have to head up again after work!

Who’s got the tightest tune in the Ludlow/Londonderry area? I haven’t tuned my daily drivers in like 2 years and they’re desperately in need of a spa day. Extra points if they know the maggot handshake and like beer etc lol I’m WAY out of the loop.

Also need to find some ~12 din clamps that aren’t indemnified if anybody’s holding.

If you don't have his digits, text me.

I'll give you some goodies to bring him since he doesn't drink beer.

Oh I got his number, been a few years since I hung out with him & the fairer half- didn’t know he was still doing that. I have a chef tasting menu right up his alley 🤙
