Saturday the chalet on wheels at K’s Skyeship lot. This morning visibility sucked. snow was soft from the get go. Skiing is better than not skiing but I was still in some pain from the preceding 3 days. Called it a day early

Three snowmobilers died yesterday in an avalanche in the chic chocs. I don’t have a lot of details as my French is poor

3 people were completely buried by the avalanche deposit. Unfortunately, 3 deaths were recorded.

Any particular reason to choose Okemo over Mt. Snow for a few laps tomorrow afternoon? Going to ski one or the other...kind of indifferent as to which.

Bummer news from Sugarbush. Over half the mountain shuts down Monday for the heavens gate chair replacement. The top and everything skiers left of lower organgrinder will be closed. And as usual they are pulling the plug on North after this weekend. Kind of a dick move with all of their marketing for eclipse viewing and skiing. It’s not like they just learned about the schedule for the lift replacement.

Okemo was in the bullseye for the last storm. Not sure how Mt. Snow did.

Sugarbush excels at dick moves. Ask the Egan brothers.

Ha! As an aside that terrain would be SO MUCH better with a new lift and snowmaking. Now that I think of it I’ll remind the folks at saddleback that their mountain would be much improved with a magic carpet that brings folks to the top of Muleskinner. I think I’m onto something here!!! Any investors????

I’ll let you use the traverse that I cut in over to Muleskinner for free. Only lose about 70’ of vert at the top. I’ll shows ya next time we ski up there.

I told myself as I was arcing my last turns Monday afternoon towards the base at PICO that I was fulfilled, it’d been a good season and it was time to move on. But now I find myself holding up my lighter and looking hopefully towards the stage and saying :
    “ ENCORE “
