I will never ride palisades on a weekend again. Still had fun, but Suge is my speed. Exciting curry soup. Mouth watering terrain. Better groomers. Cool mossy trees.

More importantly, this is the last time i come to tahoe without touring gear. Donner summit was gorgeous this morning

^^^I usually wait until late March before heading to PT on a weekend. I thought about it briefly for today, but the parking was sold out anyway.

Got the wifey off of a snowboard for the first time in 20 years on Sat. She did great for her first day on skis.

Got my SB Palisades lines for the year today. 58 was smooth, blown in, pow all day. Every lap I did was out the Silver Belt gate. It was crowded, but mostly in the parking lot and lodge.

Sunday at Sugar Bowl was great. Crowds(not that you can really call them that) thinned out dramatically after lunch. Vibe was really good and everyone seemed to be having fun. Could definitely see this as a good place to bring the kids next year. Palisades area was so neat but definitely study from the lift first if not familiar, some pretty good exposure and you can get cliffed out in a hurry. Not sure what lines I skied but they were fun.

Got in some lift assisted touring on Saturday and found some hidden pockets of chalk in the protected leeward slopes like money run.

FYI on lodging in Truckee Gravity Haus was a reasonable price, had a real helpful front desk with lots of freebies including some good electrolyte powder, and had a great sauna. No boot dryer in rooms though. May return on the next Tahoe guys trip.

Green pants man? I was staying there too. Fellow green pants wearer, think we were at the same bar yesterday. Could have had a whole mini bbi yesterday at SB sounds like

Yeah that’s the one. Have zero idea how they’ll deal with that?

    Bro...its here now!

Had a Little League game Saturday afternoon on Treasure Island and rolled up without issue to Olympic Valley.

The winds were a bit of a pain closing lifts like Headwall but KT & Red Dog provided the goods yesterday. 8:45am opening and more sun than clouds meant straight to the Nose to gather up some sunny windbuff. If that was good, I figured Three Trees on East Face probably had the same...yup! Kinda did back and forth for an hour and half skiing right onto the lift before deciding to go for a Reverse Traverse to the Slot into Cornice Bowl...not as quite as windbuffed but nice a smooth in the bowl...no complaints. Headed straight to Red Dog to ski the spines but looks like a lot of people have hammered it lately...big 'sidesteppy' moguls down some of the steep lines...oh well, still fun. Finished the day just lapping the Nose to skier's left upper Fingers...just perfect wintery snow above exposure.

They might have to build a big wind fence out there next year to help mitigate. Pretty nuts

    Sweet shots everyone!

Hey, I think I accidentally left my GoPro 7 at the bottom of the road exit to Kingsbury Grade last Friday March 8 after transitioning to walking out of the Minden Mile. Anyone find it? I mostly just want the footage of my kid skiing the MM for the first time as I have been meaning to get a new GoPro! MOM BRAIN!

Nice to see the positive SB stoke on such a windy weekend. Went for a tour east off of Judah. Edgeable windbuff top half, spongy soft turns second half down to the tracks. Everything is very filled in. Then toured for some runs off the south side and then down the north side of the ridge named for the teenager who spent 3 months solo in a cabin in the winter of 1844 at Donner Lake when we came upon somebody's ramp to jump the Union Pacific.

Yep, lots of green pants apparently lol. Bright green pants at SB and the puke green pants were on duty earlier in the week at Kirkwood.

Kirkwood was excellent today with the .5” they received. Wind buff and even some face shots where the snow blew in. And dead quiet.
