I've certainly seen days where it seemed EVERYONE was traversing over to the bowls, and under the lift was pretty damn close to untouched, but overrated or not, I have sure had some memorable runs over there...

Are you saying that’s a bad thing?
We have made trade offs to live here. We deserve to be jaded and spoiled.

Speaking of, I made an AM excursion to Mt Brokenchair today with the weekend masses. The prior days snow was shralped but fluffy, 2” new was light and wind transported, viz was variable, wind chill was COLDAF, and the situationally unaware were out in force. CCX was a zoo by 1000 but rest of chairs had minimal lines.
Loading PMX ~1100 as a single I asked a gaggle of people coming down the chute how many in their group.
    “Five”
“How you want to split the group up?”
    “Huh?”
“You’re gonna struggle to load five people on a quad chair”
    “Oh. Yeah”
As it turned out two other singles and I snaked thru and loaded while they tried to figure out who was gonna be on each chair.

I hit bachelor today, NWX actually had better visibility and less wind than the rest of the mountain, which I understand is unusual. Things were pretty ridden out, but there were still a few lines in the trees. The groomers were riding pretty amazing.

It's been a while since summit has run, I imagine that's going to kick ass for the first few dozen people to get up there whenever they get done with storm recovery.

A few years back after a major dump, it’s late in the afternoon and the slopes were virtually empty. I’m thinking it’d be my last run down the outback and what do I see, the open sign to NWX that has been closed all day. I rode up NWX with a few other peeps and the sun starts to break out. I’m at the top and briefly survey the phat snow fields below me. The air is cold and sparkling snowflakes dancing in the air. I had the best turns at the west bowls for an hour or so. That has never happened to me before until that moment and it never happened since, and that's my best memory of West bowls. Over-rated? …pfft, I'll take it.

If you lived here, you would experience that more often. And in turn become jaded/spoiled.

It’s been a good week here. Next couple of days should be good too.

I'm just saying that when the crowds descend, a ton of folks work hard to go west, leaving the spoils to the skiers right untouched. I'm halfway down my pow run when other folks are finally dropping in.

Yeah, it's cool over there, just gotta know which cards to play when

    YMMV

    Nice!

Looks like bowls up to Twilight opened?

That's quite the quick transition at the scour line!

Nope. Had to work yday and today.

Life is a balance. Thats what i keep telling myself. The ego wants. It wants to want more than the thing it wants. I release myself from the pain of want.

I have no need for this, I have no need for that, I am dancing at the feet of my lord, all is bliss all is bliss.

And His Holiness the Dalia Lama sez “everything in moderation”
    “Including moderation”

I get it. I’m out today with spousal commitments.
To all you out there today, bring back pics. Based on what I had to shovel this AM, todays snow will be lighter than yesterdays
