I’ll be skiing in the 50% zone.

I have really good place in Bloomington Indiana, with great Mountain Biking out the door.

But it will probably be nicer here.

Luckenbach is just off the road between Fredericksburg and the LBJ ranch. It’s a good place to stop and have a beer and listen to a little live music on Sunday.

Oh, and another problem; if you look at the weather map of the storm system currently crossing the US, and just about every other storm that’s crossed this year and forever, it stretches from the southwest to the northeast just about exactly on the line of the eclipse. So if it is raining or cloudy here, there’s a good chance it’s going to be the same all along that line. So good luck trying to drive somewhere where it is clear.

I'll be dead center at Francisco Zarco, near Torreón, MX. It will follow a few weeks of moto riding in the Copper Canyon, so it's not a trip only for the eclipse, but that was the germ of the idea.

    How about another female singer;
Then you flew your Lear jet up to Nova Scotia, to see the total eclipse of the sun.

You probably think this thread is about you, don’t you, don’t you?

Pretty good map with links on state by state eclipse activities you may want to go to, or stay away from.

RC: Kinda sad they slept on this and didn't setup a MX trip.

I should probably book Spain for Aug 2026 now.

Delta is offering eclipse flights including one from Austin to Detroit that will be on the smaller Airbus with the bigger windows and will generally follow the path of totality. If it’s a clear day those views would be very cool.

Bell County TX, where I live, has issued a disaster declaration for the eclipse. They’re predicting the population will double on April 8 causing massive traffic jams, gas and food shortages, and spotty cell phone service.

Not sure why anyone would come here rather Austin or San Antonio, but I guess we’ll see.

I have eyes on Arkansas and Indiana, depending on the weather. Oregon was unreal a few years back, I'm hoping so much to get to experience totality again.

Lots of places in N Maine trying to cash in. I have picked my first choice spot. Thinking thirty hours out hopefully works. Might be illegal so could be kicked out. Fingers crossed on weather

The local chatter is really picking up around here.
I'm getting prepped on the photography side and despite living in the path of totality, plan to head closer to the middle of the path via a very early morning back roads drive.

Practice using my new solar filter with cobbled together homemade mounting system.

Forecast is looking pretty gray and wet for my AO in texass. Da upstate and Vermont are looking clear!

Darling daughter is going to be out on Lake Champlain, that sounds like an excellent call.

We're still going to have a good time. Going to try to check out that Wemby kid Sunday night, Sixers vs Spurs.

Yeah, the forecast looks pretty bleak for where I’m at, a little north of Austin. 58% chance of rain on the 8th. Although the weather forecasts have been pretty unreliable so far this spring, so we’ll have to see. I held off playing golf a couple days because it was predicted to rain over 60%, but it didn’t both times. However it was solid overcast both days, so there’s that.

Looking like the sun position will not be behind the trees in my backyard. Yay. I'll have to get off my deck and go down on the lawn. First world problems. Of course the Noreaster expected
this week needs to clear out in time.

Niagara Falls, which is right on the path, is expecting so many visitors it's declared a state of emergency ahead of time.
