Seconded.
And add Steve Miller Band only because I got so fucking sick of every single song of theirs that everybody was playing nonstop in middle school.

Even though he is not a band I never got into Bob Dylan. I saw him live a few years ago and he and his band were amazing, but I have had a hard time getting into his albums. I even started reading his book, and couldn't get into that.

Thirded on the "fab" four. All they did was kick off the boy band craze that has been on again/off again for the past 40 years. Thanks guys, you paved the way for such wonderful acts as NKOTB, NSync, Backstreet Boys, etc. Some real good work there
Add The Eagles. Fuck those guys and their damn hotel. When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade. Make life take the lemons back. GET MAD! I DON'T WANT YOUR DAMN LEMONS! WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH THESE?! DEMAND TO SEE LIFE'S MANAGER! Make life RUE the day it thought it could give YOU LEMONS! DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?! I'M THE MAN WHO'S GONNA BURN YOUR HOUSE DOWN! WITH THE LEMONS! I'm gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that's gonna BURN YOUR HOUSE DOWN!

If there is one commandment in music, it's that the Beatles were the best rock band of all time.
and Hunk of Burning Love is a late Elvis masterpiece.
too many radiohead fans around here......
It isn't necessary to imagine the world ending in fire or ice. There are two other possibilities: one is paperwork, and the other is nostalgia.

Metal and Goth-Rock.
After Led Zep "V" and Alice Cooper's "Killer" everything went down the toilet.
30 years later and it still is going strong... figure?

woodsy yes, basically agreed. FWIW I think only ever on Elvis as a young man. Actually joining the army (whoa) and having a wierd overtly loving relationship with his mom and being one of the people to bodily drag black music into the white consciousness while making some really, really rocking songs. Comeback elvis and dead on the throne with 40#s of impacted shit, yeah that's not so good.
have fun at SE's show. I heard the other day that he, jello and MC5 are playing some kind of antiwar show in DC, talk about a diverse lineup

EAgles here too. Can't listen to them at all. I haven't even been able to listen to the EAgles of Death Metal because of the name.
Move along nothing to see here.

08-11-2005, 08:34 AM #22No way. You have to see them live to really understand them. To see that 50+ year old five foot nothin limey bastard workin it on stage screaming about his balls is the mark of a true rock great.
