My wife landed a spot a one year spot at C-S but we are going need to live within ten minutes from the hospital because of her call schedule. We will be out this winter to look at neighborhoods/buildings but I am apprehensive about the rental situation.

Is anyone in or know the area and have advice to offer? Happy to talk over PM to not clog up the main forum.

    Cedars-Sinai?

That's gonna be tough. A popular area and pricey.

Look up some local realtors and email them- one may be able to set you up with the right price-point rental that's reasonably close.

You think the Baldy lifts will open up? Haven’t had a chance to go yet so pretty stoked since I missed out on last year

How long do you think it will take lift opts to get chair 3 running after a week of snow like this?

It will certainly be interesting with everything coming.

    Here is the mountain report:

They are a small operation, so you never know just how quickly they will be able to get everything moving.

Looking at radar, I'm thinking chair 1 is already iced up. So no way they would "get Lift #3 rolling as soon as LATE tomorrow morning." But maybe it will warm up today and melt out chair 1. 32 degrees at 6964 already.

I was surprised to see that. It did seem a bit optimistic.

Let's hope this is the storm that dials things in.

Would be nice if these storms would hit at night. Forecast has everything continuing to be mostly daytime moisture.

Not enough to open chair 3, needs one more storm.

Currently, the snow level is reported around 7500-8000 ft. I know its supposed to lower later today and Tuesday, but with less amount of liquid.

I'm not a heavy Baldy rider but Wednesday maybe they get lift 1 running by midday.

Windboard on chair 1, but coverage is really, really good, great base snow. Skyline is mostly windboard and big drifts, soft spots in areas sheltered from the wind. Bring your loosest skis.

Went to Baldy today and skied 11:30-2:30, coverage is solid, sun was shining, snow was soft. Good day!

I went out on 2/15 with Colin Sander with the goal of linking up a few things around San Gorgonio area. We left pull off on rt 38 at about 5am, topped out on Alto Diablo at 8:30am, skied down and around backside of Charlton, up to Jepson at 11am, dropped E face of Jepson, melted snow for water, skinned and booted up Big Draw at 12:30, over to San Gorgonio at 2pm, dropped N aspect off San Gorgonio, made our way back to NE flank of Charlton and started skinning up before dropping N aspect at about 4pm and skiing out to the car in time for sunset. Felt great to cross so much terrain, about 17.75 miles and 7.4k vert in total.

    Great work and awesome shots!

    Thanks for posting.

We will be up at least one day this weekend, possibly two if I can get enough done to do a Friday afternoon Baldy trip.

Went up Sunday AM a week and a half ago, and it was awesome.
