Jay Challenge Race Report
This was my first race ever, let alone first Endurance Race.....
Some racers took the three day option which was a 25 mile Kayak race, a 30 mile marathon which took on average 7 hours to finish, and then on the third day they competed in the MTB Race. These racers were easily indentifiable with yellow number plates.
Prelimenary reports say the course was around 60 miles and 10,000 to 14,000 Feet of climbing. It took me about 11 hours to finish, but the real racers probably finished in 6 to 7 hours, im still waiting for hte results to be posted. After some intenese leg pain underneath my knee at about mile 30 i really considered dropping out, but every time i would see someone with a yellow number plate it kept me motivated to keep charging on . I am totally impressed with the athletes that i met and I am going to try and spend some more time in the saddle . Perpetuem and E-caps kept me going, i started getting sick of the taste of perpeuem towards the end of the race but it did me good. I went to work the day after and two days later i feel great.

Congrats Pedro!! My wife and I tried to get into the run, but we were too late. I am toying with the idea of the whole thing next year, but that is (thankfully) a long way away.
