We would usually just hop in the car and drive upstream of Dubois and get in to the Wind Rivers (mountains) a little to get back on the river above the red dirt.

BTW, I started using Chernobyl Ants (spelling?) on the Green River a few years ago and the fish just MURDER that thing. I've tried it in other areas without much luck (such as the Teton River in Driggs, Snake in JH, Wind River between Dubois and Riverton, the Laramie River and the Laramie Plains Lakes). Is it an imitation of something real on that river? Or maybe it just happens to be the right bug... I dunno. You use them?

Cheronobyle ants have been producing as well as crickets and other terrestrials
The big jelly (chennile) belly ants seem to work better in faster water.
Where as a smaller flying or sailor ants work better in slower back eddies were the fish have more time to inspect your offering.
Fat Albert Kind of a short, squat, turks turantula has been a hot fly this summer.
Run w/ a foot or two tungston beadhead dropper underneath.
Caddis hatches have been good altough it's only usually the last hour of daylight when it goes down.
Steamers and jigs producing nice fish in low light conditions.
This springs high flows have cleaned out the river bottom quite nicely.
Fishing on the "B" and "C" sections has been awsome until this last rain brought on the choc. milk.
River clears pretty fast as long as it doesn't rain more.
Upper Green below Fontnell has come down and stonefly hatches have been good.
Never fished the Wind but would like to.
Ive got a few trips in Aug.I am looking forward to hitting some new water.
