yeah, my friends that moved gave me their old space heater so now I have two, one that oscilates and a larger floor heater. The oscilator will certainly take the chill off but doesn't ever really warm the garage up.
My ultimate plan is to get the entire garage rewired fixtures to include:
3 banks of flourescents
1 bank projecting work lights
more outlet boxes (currently my only outlet box in the shop area has screw in fuses)
overhead space heater
220 outlet
outdoor outlet box on a timer for my truck
I was trying to think up a better flushing fluid than just to dump a little beer in there, perhaps you should just have a rule that only cheap cans can be drunk in the garage and then make a "skipping one step" joke each time you "flush""It is not the result that counts! It is not the result but the spirit! Not what - but how. Not what has been attained - but at what price.

72's is tidy! Mine looks more like Lemon Boy's. We actually have 4 garage bays. It's insane. A previous owner was a car collector and had it built. My husband turned one into an office which is really nice.
Overall though, it's just more space to fill w/ crap that you then have to agonize about getting rid of!

07-19-2005, 01:36 PM #29Yeah, I might be in the running. Most of my "toys" are spread around right now though. I'll see if I have pictures of all of them tonight. I've got a good ski collection (7 pair), but only 2 pair are mine...

Don't have any pics of the interior, as it's a work in progress. "What on earth are you doing out there every night?" " uh, working? "

OK, you guys got me to clean up the garage. And by clean up, I mean move the pizza boxes just out of frame.
The board wing:
Would be more boards but the Battlestar is loaded up currently. Note the MTB and mountain board action.
The Beast:
Remember that really fast car you drove that one time? This one's faster (Roo most likely excepted). Insanely fast, eats ricers and Ferraris for breakfast at the track. 0-60 around 3 seconds, top's out around 115 due to crap aero.
How do you cart around all this crap? The Battlestar.
I drive the short bus. Oh, and a motorcycle.

Where in NJ are you Aldo, for some reason that pic looks like a place I'm familiar with but I can't pinpoint it in my mind.

Tong- sweet kart. One of the kids wants one and I've got a friend who's giving one away. It's got the yami 100 motor (don't remember the designation). Its older and not competative but should be good to start out w/ and tinker around w/. Don't know if I'll ever get into it heavily but if I do your kart is what I'm looking for. Love the disks up front!!!

Tong - you ever heard of Lake Hattie? It's out here in the Laramie valley. Lots of windsurfers come out here. It's not very big, but I talked to a British guy out there once who says a few years back he wiped out going about 70mph and broke his ribs. It's ALWAYS windy (and cold).
I tried to learn how to windsurf out there, but it was always blowing like 50mph. I could never figure it out."Have fun, get a flyrod, and give the worm dunkers the finger when you start double hauling." ~Lumpy

07-19-2005, 07:49 PM #39Yeah, anyways - skis, bikes, packs, etc. are all tools. You buy them, trade them, sell them break them. They come and go. The memories and experiences you create while using them are what's special. Throw the fuckers in the garage!

07-19-2005, 07:55 PM #40125 Honda Motocross engine heavily modded, compression ratio bumped way up, yadda yadda. About 48HP according to the dyno. 6 speed gearbox, 4 wheel disk brakes, full data logger setup. It's damn fun and the cheapest way to experience real speed. Check ekartingnews.com if you want more info about them.

I live in a town where if I stored expensive shit in the garage, it would walk. I've already had a left-handed circular saw and a dremel stolen from my garage (it's a garage shared by all residents of my building). So, all my gear is currently stored in what will soon be my son's bedroom. Gotta figure out someplace else to store the bikes and skis.

Just got my garage a month ago so it's still nice and purdy. My upstairs neighbours moved out and the landlord split a double in half for me. Feels good to have a place to work and get all the toys and shit out of my living room. I ripped the shit out of my house cleaning it up and transferring to the new space while I'm healing this pesky collarbone, amazing difference inside. I guess tunes in the shop are at the top of my list now.

07-21-2005, 09:08 AM #46Bullshit -- in our house, skis and surfboards go where most people would put a couch. Just don't try to sit on my board on the floor! Wetsuits perenially hanging in the shower, and clotheslines set up in the living room, kitchen, and bathroom for wet gear.

07-21-2005, 01:03 PM #48I wish and someday! It's all old stains from the last guy using it but I don't park my mazda in there because it leaks pretty bad. I'm bringing back my dad's '57 Lincoln from my holidays this summer so that's going to be filling out the garage pretty well.
