    pasta with hot dogs??

I was grazing in Costco today and they were grilling up Kirkland hot dog samples. I'm not really a hot dog guy, but they were pretty good and I bought some. Looking for something easy for dinner and have some of my wife's leftover red sauce and pasta cooking and lo and behold no leftover meatballs in the sauce. I'm thinking some grilled dogs thrown in might be decent. Anybody ever had that and how was it?

Cut up hot dogs in spagetti are a timeless tradition among the financially challenged. It's less affectionately called "spaghetto". Heck, I even go out of my way to buy this instead of the meatball kind..

I've had my share of Spaghettios as a kid, but that's tomato soup shot and ungrilled baby dicks. Grilled dogs and real pasta source came out pretty good, although judging by the nasty burps my family will pay later when it makes it way out another passage.

If all you have is a package of pasta and a pack of hot dogs and you can't figure out what to do, you need to be hungry longer.

You'll figure sometihng out eventually. And it will be good.

Don’t know about red sauce, but some grilled dogs chopped up in Mac & cheese sounds good.

Are the hot dogs expired Hebrew nationals?

Mac & Yak FTW. Although the recipe I know calls for kraft and boiled hotdogs. That looks a little fancier.

I’ll admit that I’m a fan of hot dogs in Mac and cheese. Canned/stewed tomatoes also are good in it.

My kids used to like hot dog tacos and quesadillas when they were little. The taco meat was too spicy for them so we'd cut up hot dogs they'd use those instead.

Hawaiian style chili dogs are pretty good and if you make them with ramen, that's hot dogs and pasta. AKA how to quickly feed a family of four on $5. That's a pack of cheap hot dogs sliced and cooked with a can of Nalley chili served over either rice or ramen noodles. I was introduced to that one by guys who grew up poor in Hawaii.

Funny you should mention this.. That's precisely what I was planning to do with the leftover 2 hot dogs and small cup of chili leftover from the Labor Day lunch morsels. I'm pretty sure I didn't get that from any Hawaiian. It's just plain poor people anywhere who devise these masterpieces.

Like I said before, I can’t really see hot dogs going well with marinara, but if you add a little cream to the red sauce and throw in some red pepper flakes, you could add hot dogs or horse meat or whatever, and it would taste good.
