Obituary for Anthony Saracelli
Anthony “Tony” Saracelli, 39, of Bozeman, was killed in an avalanche in the Bridger Mountains outside of Bozeman, MT on Saturday, April 14, 2018. He passed away in the mountains where he was most at home doing what he loved.
Tony was born December 16, 1978 in Mount Kisco, NY to Gail (Crandall) and Richard John Saracelli. He was raised and educated in Patterson, NY and graduated from Carmel High School. He attended Dutchess Community College in Poughkeepsie, NY. He transferred to Ft. Lewis College in Durango, CO. Tony moved to Bozeman in 2002, to attend Montana State University. Bozeman had everything Tony needed, beautiful mountains, pristine clear rivers and a tight knit ski community. He loved and was nurtured by this mountain community.
He was employed by Dorothy Kincaid owner of Rosa’s Pizza, he was one of her children, he was a leader in a tight knit work community as well.
Tony was passionate about his skiing, mountain biking, fishing, hiking, camping, photography, music, guitar, cooking and picking huckleberries. This variety of interests enabled him to move seamlessly from season to season.
His parents will cherish their trips to see Tony, he was an extraordinary guide, he planned grand adventures and was always careful of their safety.
Tony was humbled by the kindness and acceptance of the Bridger Ski Community.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Angelo Saracelli and maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Mark C. Crandall and his aunt Laurie Sutton.
Survivors include his parents Gail and Richard Saracelli of Patterson, NY; his sister Amanda (Patrick) Corbett of Columbus, OH; his uncle James (Tracey) Saracelli; 2 aunts Charlotte (Ron) Grahame and Christine (Lynn) Jones as well as numerous cousins.
Visitation will be held 3 PM, with a funeral service at 4 PM, followed by a reception at Dahl Funeral and Cremation Service on Wednesday, April 18, 2018.
Memorials may be made in his name to Bridger Ski Patrol, 15795 Bridger Canyon Road, Bozeman, MT 59715 and Gallatin Valley Search and Rescue, 219 E. Tamarack Street, Bozeman, MT 59715.

I always had a lot of respect for Tony's adventures and always looked forward to seeing his photos be it on skis or mountain bike. He shared his joy of living in a very humble manner. Rest in Peace.
