Thread: aftermarket strap-on diagonal ski carrier?

I have a ski touring pack that I like a lot (made by Life-Link, 5 years old), but it uses the compression straps to carry my skis a-frame style. I have been admiring the DaKine packs with the diagonal carry system for some time, but can't bring myself to give up on my trusted LL pack just for a carry system that I don't know if I like.
Does anybody make an after market diagonal ski carry system? I can imagine it as a pretty simply designed product, just webbing, a slidelock buckle, and the holder bit.
Anybody know of such a product or alternative?

Until I just got my new back, I'd been using a North Face back with a full custom diagonal ski strapping system[/mtr]. It' sooper easy. Tie a loop of webbing on the bottom right. Make a loop with a buckle on the top left.

I thought Da kine & wookie both sold after market ski holders.

There are slings out there that might function. At least for the ski holder part, then you'd have to rig up a way to attach it to the pack.

I used to use something similar to the "bowtie" before I got a vertical carry pack.
I'd hike with a large fannypack and diagonal slung skis in the post-lift-season.

Go for the fat ski model.
