The Who will perform at the London edition of Live 8, to be held July 2nd in Hyde Park. They join a star-studded lineup that already includes U2, Paul McCartney, Madonna, Elton John, Sting, Coldplay and a one-off reunion of Pink Floyd.

Further to the staggering news yesterday (12th June) that Pink Floyd were reuniting with Pink Floyd, to play their first concert together for 24 years as part of the Live 8 London show, we have a couple of updates for you here.

Firstly, Roger Waters has given his comments about the reunion:

"It's great to be asked to help Bob raise public awareness on the issues of third world debt and poverty.

"The cynics will scoff, screw 'em!

"Also, to be given the opportunity to put the band back together, even if it's only for a few numbers, is a big bonus."
It's great to hear Roger and David Gilmour both talking about the event in such a positive way (with David's comments in yesterday's report); however, it is far too soon for any talk of additional shows. Unsurprisingly there are a number of rumours starting to fly around of a small tour following Live 8!

MEDIA COVERAGE
We've had a lot of emails from people worldwide upset that they can't get tickets for the show. However, the show is being broadcast live by BBC TV, meaning people in the UK and a lot of Europe will be able to view their feed. Also, other broadcasters will be showing the live broadcast worldwide - check your local stations closer to the event for schedule details.

Also the BBC will be broadcasting the show on their radio stations - and as they stream live over the internet, this will mean people worldwide will be able to tune in as the show happens! We also understand that AOL will be webcasting video footage of the show, live.

Finally, it would be a great surprise if the show was not released on a fund-raising DVD at some point...

TICKETS FOR THE CONCERT
Tickets were only available as part of a "lottery" via text message, which closed yesterday (Sunday). Understandably, demand for the tickets was massive, with 2,060,285 entries having been received - which is a world record. Around 1.5 million were received in the first nine hours alone!

75,000 lucky people will receive a text message from the organisers in the next couple of days, giving them a special code which will enable them to access their tickets on a special website.

The texting raised around £3 million for Live 8, organisers said. The first £1.6 million will be donated to The Prince’s Trust, which cancelled its annual Party in the Park concert to make way for Live 8. Remaining money will go towards the costs of staging the event.

We have been deluged with emails from people worldwide, asking if we can get tickets for them. Please note that we have no way of getting hold of tickets for anyone - so please don't ask! We don't even have one ticket for us to attend the show and report back on proceedings, yet. If anyone should have a spare ticket, please get in contact (heading your email "Spare ticket") - we'd be extremely grateful!

EBAY WARNING
Unsurprisingly, tickets have already started appearing on eBay for large amounts of money, despite the tickets not having been issued yet! A warning for anyone intending to buy or sell tickets on the online auction site - Live 8 organisers are working with eBay to try and stop people selling them for a huge profit.

A Live 8 spokesman said: "They're going to help us - we're talking to them, they've been very helpful. Live 8 lawyers will take action against anyone trying to sell tickets."

I just saw the lineup for the Philly show. Only one act that does not suck- Stevie Wonder. Don't really feel like seeing Will Smith host Bon Jovi, Dave Matthews, P Diddy, and Rob Thomas.
