Is $20 a lot for a Pie?

I went to this little nothing restaurant a couple weeks ago, I mean it was fine, but nothing fancy at all, like a little neighborhood place, wife wanted to split a piece of pie after dinner so we got it and on the bill it was $8.75. For a piece of pie. It wasn't even big. Not even any ice cream. So $20 for a whole pie sounds like a bargain.

It was actually very good. Chocolate cream pie, I dig it. But still.

chocolate cream pie seems like it ought to be even cheaper than normal pie with like fruit and such in it

My dad makes the best peach pie.
It's so good I don't even make fun of him for doing it.
Home made crust, in season uncooked peaches, some gooey-sweet-tart filling.
Oh, and whip-cream done by hand.
Makes you a bit weak, best if one sits.

I tried to convince him to start a bakery.
Problem is we figured it would run about $50 a pie (and we would eat them all).

Why would you make fun of your dad, or anyone for that matter, for making pie?

The best pie that I have ever had was from the Pie Hut in Sandpoint Idaho. So good that I keep the check pinned to my wall.
