Fatbike trail recommendations in vt
Since it got so warm today and I suspect it will be quite firm skiing tomorrow does anyone have any trail recomendations in VT. Looking for groomed or singletrack. Preferably not too much elevation change as I will be with my 9 yo. He can usually tolerate 8-12 miles of moderate summer singletrack. Somewhere with views would be awesome. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

^^ KT is down until it firms up. Even if Monday is cold they'll probably give it a full day before they reopen.
Where are you in VT? If things do freeze up a bunch of places should be good.

I'm in mass but driving up. Figured since it will be cold after the heat of today fatbike will be more fun. I think we will go to the mountain meadows xc center near killington. Then possibly hike Killington from brewers corner on Tuesday.

Thanks for the link Biggins, a few great options there. The camel's hump loop sounds good.

Brattleboro/Keene Nemba and UVMBA both bought Snowdogs recently and have been grooming many miles of trail in SW and W NH. I'm hearing really good things about what's going on there.

Boston Lot (UVMBA) has been the spot this winter. Check out their site.

Thanks for all the replies. Looks like a lot of options for future exploring. We rode at mountain meadows. The cross country trails at first seemed to be the better choice as the snowshoe trails were postholey from hikers. We got out pretty far on the black trail and it went to hell fast. The furthest loop, the snow was just not consolidated and we kept breaking through the 2" that were packed into at least 1-1.5' of fluff. It was aweful and we felt bad for the next grooming session. There was postholes everywhere from skiers falling and whatnot. We completed most of their trails and found a sweet snowshoe trail that was like perfect singletrack. We ended just shy of 8 miles. My 9yo was beat from the slogginess but we had a good time. Saw some moose prints which was real cool. Had a great talk with the owner who is developing a way to groom fatbike specific trails. A welcome idea as it would keep us off the xc trails which clearly are groomed without compaction as a necessity.

I really want to check out some trails groomed with a snow dog as we have 12+ miles of trails in our backyard that would make great fatbike trails. I just can't keep up with the grooming by skinning while pulling a grooming sled.

If you want some better spots go back through this thread or maybe head for the NH or Maine coast. I'm seeing all sortsa good stuff especially up in Rog land and north of Portland/mid coast area.
