All you need is a couple of walkie talkies... not exactly rocket science. Pretty comical, really.

Ski movie skiers and FWT dudes are all rippers. I like both. No doubt there are sick lines in ski media but the FWT skiing is more impressive to me somehow. More raw more real.

How about stoke is stoke and we shouldn't argue what stoke we like more, it's like asking whether I'd want pictures of your mom or your sister, let's just be happy we can easily get both.

The cool thing about FWT is it's a pressure on situation where these guys are all together and each going to push as hard as they can that day.

The cool thing about ski movies is it let's guys showcase aesthetic lines when things line up right.

Moral of the story, they're both fucking rad.

No and no. Region 2 comps are done for the season hence the results.

It's very interesting that the Region 2 events get so little attention vs. Region 1. At the end of the day it boils down to money and the levels of sponsorship (and popularity and visibility of competitive free skiing) between the two regions. Seems to me it is certainly in the best interest of the sport overall for maybe Region 1 (FWT) to siphon off some funds and infrastructure to Region 2 (IFSA) for decent media and social media coverage.

The fact is that the Americas (IFSA) operate on such a bare bones budget that they can't even afford to send official photographers, and this is a result of how much higher the profile is in Region 1. There weren't even decent (if any!) podium pics most of the time. Weird. Seems like an awful lot of opportunity being missed by those who can afford it to raise the sport's profile worldwide.

Someone mentioned to me they had watched one of the comps on a live stream (Taos I think) but I never saw it, heard about it, or could find any such thing.

I do have a terrible 3 second vid of him absolutely eating shit after sending a backie off a huge smokestack at CB though!

If they added a masters division so that old people with day jobs that don't want to compete against your kid could have a place in the event, then we could help subsidize things.

    Congrats to your mini-me!

I got all excited when I misread your post as: "they added a masters division ...".
    Probably for the best.

There were 6 of us over the age of 40 in the Japan 2*. We started an over-40 club. We'd love a Master's Division. ;-)
