No snow, so ordered a bike. Works everytime
Its been a dry dry winter so far in my neck of the woods. We aren't known for deep winters anyways but the last couple have been pretty low. Ordered this bike a week ago and was just looking at reviews and lo and behold...A SNOWFALL WARNING!
Heres the bike.( a pic anyways) A roadie for a mountain biker.

Hope this doesn't fizzle out.

Updates on how the Sequoia rides! Been tracking that rig since it was released...looks like a fun all rounder.
That Length of Sweden documentary a few weeks ago was pretty rad

Freaking love it! Several pounds heavier than what I replaced it with but it is so much fun. Not much time to type now but i will post up some more later. Hydro discs for the win!

Having a blast on this thing. Havent ridden it too much. 86 km road ride a couple of weeks ago and several gravel/road/singletrack hits between 10 -30km.
This would have been a dream mountain bike for me in the late 80's. Amazing how much things have changed. This bike rips. Love the dirt drop bar for the flare. Never used anything like this and it just feels right.
Way heavier than my previous gravel /road bike but the trade off when I go off road is way worth it. I can descend everything in the hoods and ride most trails with just one finger on the brakes. Hydro brakes rule! This was a game changer for me as previously to get the leverage I needed to descend steep / tech I would need to be in the drops.
Carbon fork sucks up the bumps quite well. Geo is slightly different than what I had. Higher bb so I'm hitting the pedals way less. Climbs like a beast.
Tires are amazing. Havent gone ghetto tubeless yet but they handle mixed terrain really really well. Even if you aren't a fan boy of the big S these tires are worth a look. They handle singletrack way better than they look. Mud shedding is phenomenal on these as well. Specialized nailed this tire.
Don't really like the denimish bar tape but to each their own.
Stock except for the seat.
Only negative really is the weight but I knew what I was getting into.
Haven't loaded it down and gone for a tour yet so I may report back. Went with the elite model as I wasn't sure of the 1 by for my riding and was a bit cash crunched so the decision was easy. Gear range is great for what I'm using it for. Could be stiffer if I was on flatter roads or on the road way more for that matter.

^Awesome to read thanks for the review. Tempted to move some bikes around and get the cash for the Sequoia. Do you plan on throwing any bags on it for touring?
