Cutting Carbon Fiber - Dynafits
Has anyone ever cut carbon fiber? Any tips?
I have some Dynafit Vertical FT12 with the carbon piece that goes from the toepiece to the heelpiece. I'm running them on a set of Sollyfits, and the carbon is elevated off of the ski. Some quick research indicates that it is probably not needed (it is supposed to be a stiffener for big landings). I've managed to crack one already somehow. Would it be better to just try to cut off all of the excess that isn't over the sollyfit, or should I just not install them (do they really serve any purpose aside from stiffening)It's not tragic to die doing what you love.

Plastic. Unmount, disassemble the toe bits and they pop off. Completely useless, just for looks.
