I've only met him briefly and I was unimpressed, but I put a lot of trust in the opinions of my friends that live in the same town as him and have dealt with his shop for years. Go with Wyoming Trout Guides.

N Fk Special is a good fly, but it's not even close to the fly that I tied on a return eye hook for no good reason.

We'll be in Cody at the end of July if y'all want to hash it out. That's an official invite.

Im in for 420 session. Was just there yesterday and it is way up higher than Ive seen it out of its banks in quite a few spots. We only got one fish on a rapala I tied myself. I dont understand why we didnt catch much we were using the latest bulgarian tenkara shallow nymphing technique.

So, you coming down to Font in April?

Is that the lake that overlooks the valley we talked about?

Had a great morning on the river. Most are closed and/or totally blown out but we have an ace in the hole that has been on fire. Only took one pic today but this was one of maybe 25 of this size and sometimes bigger. It was pretty damned fun. Also caught a 18" brookie which was a first for me.

    dfinn,

love the fishing with neoprene gloves. I do this too, helps in the wet cold. I am surprised I don't see this more.

They are actually not neoprene, but latex - nitrile gloves. A trick we learned from a guide at Pyramid Lake. They are money for winter fishing!

Absolute game changer on cold days and they don't really get in the way of fishing. Can still strip and tie on flies no problem. You also get the added benefit of always being ready to help your buddies with a colon inspection should they need one out on the river.

It wasn't half bad if I do say so myself. I was looking for something other than burgers and brauts and this worked out pretty well.

It's too long of a drive to Moab to not stop and check out some water on the way. Headed down yesterday and wasted a few hours at one of my favorite little spots. Normally I'm cursing the beavers for creating dead water but right now, with the river blown out, it seemed to be where all the fish were hanging out.
