    Jackson Hole/Targhee/Tetons Roll Call 2016/2017

JHMR just announced they are not opening as scheduled on Thanksgiving, and as rumor has it, its because no one had started a new thread for the new season.

I'll take the heat. Been raising a glass every night asking ULLR to wait. The fishin has been good all over the region this past month. fishing won't suck if it snows tho. So, I'll stop raising that glass! Plus, my kids are fucking up their skis by "skiing" on the grass in the backyard. It's about time for some white stuff to fall! I could use a day on snow.

    tram opening for only sightseeing?
i bet their are a lot of locals willing to go out of the resort and start skiing/stomping out all that bad snow lingering making for a treacherous pwl ,jim comey said no way, as ski patrol doesn't need to be bothered.i say he's right. it is still a weak argument.
so i'd show up just like you do in june, its no different and tell em your gonna make SAR'S job easier.

If I were local, I'd motivate on that point.

Hope to see a few of you kooks in March. May your season be bountiful.

    Jackson Hole/Targhee/Tetons Roll Call 2016/2017

    A poem for today:

Hiked up Snow King and gazed longingly.

Had a couple practice beacon searches to ease the pain.

    Going to the Monashees tomorrow.

With the village closed, how is the pass looking? Or are we neglected to playing pick up in Wilson every day until Ullr decides to bless us?

I'm slightly confused, with the tram open, are we allowed to take our skis up and head out for some fun or not?

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort to Open this Thursday, December 1st

(November 28, 2016), Teton Village, WY – After receiving 18 inches of snow overnight, JHMR is pleased to kick off the winter season this Thursday, December 1st. JHMR will open Teewinot and Après Vous lifts at 9 am on Thursday with additional lifts and terrain scheduled to open over the weekend as snow conditions allow. “We’re excited to kick off the season. With this latest storm cycle producing over a foot and a half snowfall in the upper elevations, that brings our season snowfall total to 95 inches. We’re looking forward to a good winter, and will be opening terrain as quickly as possible, ” Blann went on to note.

Is it normal for them to count big October snowfalls that completely disappeared in their "season total"?

I used to work at sugarbush when it was an asc resort and it was the worst.
Packed frozen granular is what we had to put for firm conditions too so it wasnt just snowfall that we had to embellish

I can't say I've ever looked at an East Coast snow report, but I'm sure you're right.

JH is an incredible place to ski and live, but I 100% stand by my statement.
