It snowed down to the hut but not enough to ski on. We hiked from the hut at 15,000' to the base of the glacier at 16,000' and stashed our skis and mountaineering gear there, so we carried light packs on the first hour up. The descent was a continuous 3,000' -- no down climbing or crevasse crossings or anything, just careful navigation and sick turns.
