Third chair today a lot more people than I expected. Pure powder daze. Trails were skied out in about an hour but the woods were quite deep turns. What a Wednesday!

Just putting it out there that fat rockered skis transformed my kids ability to deal with soft snow. No one makes one short enough for kids 45-50". Then you get into junior pow skis that are way too side cut, and start around 122cm. A little project might be, ahem, Worth it. Call 'em the Fat Kids. I have a prototype shape that seems to work....and a test pilot. I know several Dads that are interested in mine.

Went for a couple of laps at Pico, just about the best that mountain has ever been. If I had tomorrow free I'd head back down, untracked everywhere and still dumping at 3.

East Coast Roll Call 10 [ten] SKI or SKI NOT, There Is No Try

No pics cause our phones froze, but hot damn today was good. And windy. Too deep on lower angle stuff. You just get stuck. We would just see hats or helmets pop up every once in a while. Deep. There was even an abandoned snowmobile on one trail. And lots of carnage. Took one vid while my phone was on the charging station

Snowboarder took this 2 story drop. Funny stuff. Didn't see the landing because my phone was tethered to the charger.

It never stopped snowing once. Tomorrow is gonna be fun. Again.

That Snowboarder jump looked like a frat house production.
Hasn't stopped snowing here since 7 AM yesterday. Mansfield stake at 106" today compared to 25" last year :you rock:

    This Snowboarder waves , Hi!

Today was rediculous, can't say much more, just kept filing in. Breaking trail for dawn patrol was a bitch but very worthwhile.

Sounds like others had a great day as well. Wildcat skied very well and relatively empty given the dumpage.

You can't make a bad call but it might be the day to hit burke or owls head.

I'm dreaming it. You build it, He'll ski it. The boards he has now work far better than expectations but have some issues. Weight being the primary one, specifically when skinning, but skiing as well.

This is a second on Dave's post. I was out with my two groms today. ONe is on a pair of 118cm Gotamas with the Hagen youth tourning binding. She is a strong skier and strong kid so makes them work. The pee-wee was on a standard pair of youth skis 100cm and was struggling. She held it together but definitely was cooked 5 laps in, which wouldn't usually phase her.

If anyone is looking to make pow skis for kids - consider another set of testers here that are on planks 30+ days a year...one of them touring a dozen over the 30 liftie days.
