Rose area was a blast today. Stoked to get some October turns in. Conditions as reported. About a foot down lower near the highway, improves as you climb. Id recommend going sooner than later as it won't last down low. Will probably stick around up higher on N-NW slopes. Take this storm into account if it does, could create a rotten base for avy conditions come next storm.

Damnit. This is why I need to move up there full time. Just ripped up some hero dirt on the mountain-bike but that's making me jealous.
I ski 135 degree chutes switch to the road.

Was up that way earlier this morning as well. Lower elevations turned into some really heavy mank by mid day. Still a blast for mid October

Did a night mission at Rose Resort on Monday. Both the snow and the moon were amazing. What else was super cool was how many skiers we saw out there: others at resort, lights (full on NiteRider) descending Tamarack, and a couple other headlamps near the summit. So fun that everyone was getting it.

That was rad. I was up there for a few runs around sunset, and one night run with the big light on. Fun!

Apparently a tree fell on a cable recently and damaged a lift at KW; not sure which conveyance. The fix will likely involve replacing a pylon.

MAKE TAHOE DEEP AGAIN ~ 2016/17 OFISHUL SNOW/FOOD/WHINE & STOKE THREAD

^^ It must be rising fast with the temps, but my friends up there have been doing jackass loops instead of yogis if that helps. So I'm guessing Painted Rock and the top of Watson are holding snow.

But I'd still bring the bike.

Ya, I was thinking of trying to squeeze in a painted Rick/missing link lap, but from the Squaw alpine cams I think they are probably holding a bit too much snow.

How is it up on Mt Rose Summit right today? I went up on Tuesday and it was nice. Thinking about going up tomorrow if much hasn't been lost.

"First decent" is a great flick. The first Rockwood premiere I have been to. Makes you realize how good we have it living where we do! I hope he keeps making vids

The second 5 mile section of 88 was getting paved today, this one goes past the Shot Rock passing lanes.
    The first section is completed.
Silver Lake to Kirkwood Inn has been stripped down, looks like they may get it finished before winter and cover the disaster of the power line trenches.

Anyone have a line on a couple's spot in a SLT/Myers/KW ski lease?
