13 degrees and all sun in the invermere area today. Flooding is possible.
Skied some fine knee deep laps on northfacing aspects above 6500' yesterday. Rain to about 6000'.

Knob was amazing yesterday! Only people who ski in Jasper Banff area understand that 6 cm with the right wind turns into a very tasty pow day. So fun.

I guess that's what happens when I stop watching the weather for a couple days.  I'll be sending this when we land in Calgary.  Staying in Canmore tonight.  The plan was to tour something easyish along the  icefield parkway on our way to golden.
    Any suggestions?
Anything that gets us out is great, turns are a bonus.

My suggestion would be ski lake louise. Family day weekend so it will be busy everywhere. Including the back country and not necessarily with people who know what they are doing.
Check out avalanche.ca as they released a special avalanche bulletin for the weekend. Our snow pack is grosse. There should be some isolated flurries tonight. Was raining when i left canmore at 6pm.
    93 south is terrible
93 north could find some turns.
If you really want to walk check out backcountryskiingcanada. Com then routes then rocky mountain then Banff national park for a list of ideas

Go. Plus it's in cnd peso so even cheaper for 'Mericans

See how vertical goes on day 1-2. Then consider going in some afternoons if afternoon spring weather blows in. Or fuck it. Spend the money

Crowfoot Glades was nice today. Stayed in sheltered areas.
The most dangerous behavior I saw today was people parking on the side of 93 to avoid a couple miles skinning on flats. It was snowing, and the road was rated at whatever the worst is right before it closes. Really wasn't that bad, but it seems silly to park on the side of that road.

Haha, parking is always sporty. That road will have that rating all winter as we get many foreigners with no experience in winter driving up there. It gets bar when you get to the Athabasca glacier store and further north. Glad to hear you got some turns.

I always find that strange when I get to the south end and cars are parked along the roads few hundred meters from a trail head. The North 3/4's seems to follow the rules of parking off the road.

good: no snow in the past few days, but also low traffic in that terrain. Like jasper, wind is your friend.

    you coming down?

Not for a bit. 3rd or 10th depending on snow. Bringing a friend who doesn't "love" Sunshine but loves skiing in the Alpine. The Dive saved that hill for me so I'm pumped to show him around.
