I'll be at their concert at the new US Bank stadium in Minneapolis tomorrow night. Stoked.

Sounds like a marketing committee wrote the song. Uninspired garbage.

The DJs on the hard rock station in Denver were having a 3 hour circle jerk yesterday when this was released.

I wish it were true kinda, but this is what they have been going with for awhile. I always feel their newer stuff is more erratic and just doesn't flow like the older stuff. Even the Black album is better, though the more the years go by the more I can appreciate it. St Anger is when it really started a turn in this direction imo.

^Agreed! It's like they're trying way to hard. Zero flow to their music.

Making me feel old here. Last time I saw Metallica was Day On The Green at the Oakland Coliseum in 1991. Saw them earlier in 88 or 89 at the Warfield I think and before that at the Moore Theater in Seattle in HS.
I think you were still in diapers last time I saw Metallica.

We are about in the same bracket. Don't ask me why I still have this shirt, maybe cuz it was one of my faves and survived a few pits. Have seen em about 15x, first being DOG with Cliff in 85 I think, plus 91 and whenever GnR one where all the turf got destroyed by assholes. Lucky enough to see Cliff a few times. I actually lived 2 or 3 streets over from him in Castro Valley but I was a bit younger so our paths would not have crossed. Makes you always wonder what the path would have been had he lived...

My buddy bought one of those. What I remember from that show was that the sound for Soundgarden was horrible despite a good performance(something I never experienced again at one of their shows) Faith No More was the show stealer, Queensryche was horrible and Metallica was pretty good. I remember the DOG where they tore up the turf, what a bunch of dumbfucks, that was 92 and I didn't go.
I remember a fantastic show at the I Beam in the Haight from 89 or 90 when Soundgarden opened for Faith No More. That was a good time to live in the Bay Area for music.

FNM was always so fucking good live. Every time. But specifics of that day are a bit fuzzy, as well as all those days back then. But I just know they were good.
And yeah, the turf getting torn up was bad...maybe last show they did there like that for awhile at least. But on the bright side GnR was horrible so we left after about 4 songs...kinda of a mass exodus.

Was that the set order? Funny how it's worked it over time
Metallica - written by marketing teams according to lw
queensryche - shit all over themselves in court, I think there are two bands that can use the name now
Faith no more - not sure really, I don't think/know about them but a solid band
And the order of bands I'd want to see right now is from the bottom up

Agreed about queensryche.
Didn't write that correctly about fnm. I like them a lot but I know nothing about their new music and if they did anything fucky to get back together

New album took a few listens, but I really dig it.
