    Persied Meteor Shower

    anyone shooting the persied meteor shower? tonight is the peak. i've been bummed due to cloud cover every night this week. maybe tonight will be clear. the weekend should be better.

    Skies should be clear tonight in Jackson. I'll be out somewhere in the GTNP area.

    The activity from Friday night didn't seem to be that spectacular. There were a few throughout the night, and fewer were cooperating with where the camera was pointed.





    I was almost more fascinated with watching the headlamps on Middle and Teewinot throughout the night.

    Very nice! No luck for me. Mostly cloudy the whole week. I was up at 4.20am on the 13th but didnt catch any. A few out the corner of my eye but nothing on cam.

    Had good luck over Santa Barbara once the moon set. A light marine layer did its best to filter the city lights below. Overall, it was the best meteor shower I've ever seen. A few that came across the sky were so vibrant they looked fake.

    This is a single frame shot at 13 seconds with a 50mm.

    Fyi - there's a jupiter Venus conjuction happening on the 27th.
