Both Speight and O'Korn are back next year so if one or both excels this year, we will have experience under center in 2017. That being said, Peters will be a redshirt Freshman and McCaffrey will be a likely RS Fr., too.

Deadspin: Lou Holtz Nixed From Speaking At Gala After Immigration Comments. http://google.com/newsstand/s/CBIwkYGxsS0

Holtz, you may remember, shared some of his thoughts on immigration at the Republican National Convention last month: namely, that it is an “invasion.” This was followed with, “I don’t want to speak your language, I don’t want to celebrate your holidays, I sure as hell don’t want to cheer for your soccer team.”
Pretty sure he wasn't on TV last year. They got rid of him and took Mark May off College Football Final.

It's been a long 9 years wandering through the forest, but the expectations are back to where they were in the 90's/early 2000's. It's put up or shut up time, Go Vols!

Fun drinking game for tonight. Drink every time Luhl-uh-vuhl is mispronounced.

I'm sure there are excuses, but a gritty OT win over App State at home reeks of doing well to get to a bowl game this year.

ESPN does one thing well. Smoking hot blondes doing college football.

Great opening night game. UT can't feel too good about that one. Make the PAT and App wins in regulation.

Came out flat and played awful on offense. Dobbs clearly wasn't on last night. Sutton's fumbled punt set the tone for the first half. App State made the most out of UTs mistakes.

Lucky to make a bowl, come on it's one game. Let's see how Bristol goes next weekend.

I agree that it's only 1 game and at the end it's all about how many ya won, not how ya win em. Teams evolve and App St is a scrappy team. Let go Hokies next week!

Looks like SC's D line has been committing more sexual assaults than Bill Clinton, lately. Bammer just needs to stick to a power running game, cause SC won't be strong nor experienced enough to contain that for long.

    OFFICIAL 2016-2017 College Football thread

I have a feeling that a certain Houston Cougar fan is going to be insufferable for at least a week

Justin Evans for A&M just pops his leg back into place like its nothing. This 'Horn's gotta give credit where its due. That was insane.
