Put a crew together and rent a house in Hyak. Summit closures are common. Last year a crash shut down the summit for most of sat. If your weren't staying in Hyak or the Summit you were fuct, unless your LVS and drive around the mountain six hours and show up, I was impressed. If not then I would suggest the east side as close as you can and get up early in the morning to beat any storm closure.

Thanks for the info. I know it's still early, but anyone else who has got nowhere to stay should say so, so we can organize and unite under one roof.

There also is a discount on tickets if we have enough people again, I don't remember what it was but it helps

here is the place we originally booked thru airbnb and acinpdx and a couple others ended up staying there

hey someone's gotta make some money in our household and I had just been transferred to working for another fund at my firm= mo money so didn't seem like a great move to immediately take a 10 day vaca
But yeah hope to make it this yr. Our latest pipe dream is to fly in and out of Seattle to Japan at end of Jan and then be back for BBI then head home.
Might be tough to be gone that long but this is our latest thought. Need to find someone in Jackson to stay at our house and take care of dags though. Oldest dog is nearing the end so he needs lots of help, multiple meds everyday oy vey

it was cool that andrew got to go though- so random that Line put together a team w/e at the last minute for Alpental the same w/e at BBI. He got to vet you guys out first for me

I offered you the spot of 'honorary little spoon' in my camper last time, but you declined.

    Balloon afloat:

Anyone up for doing the RV thing? Considering the time and effort it takes for EC'rs; going so far to hang for just 3 days seems like a waste. Especially with so many other venues to ski within relatively short driving distance. Even headed South for the rest of the week is an option. Snow forecast could be the bellwether.

I've done a little drilling. Putting 4/5 ppl in a 7/8 sleeper 32' for nine days (2/2-2/11); $711 and 35cents a mile. Split 4 ways would be pretty inexpensive.

Base camp would be lot#3 until the 6th, weather providing. Regardless of your arrival or departure window, shuttle bus out of the airport can get you as far East as Issaquah @ $27 for easy pick-up by mags in route.

Cruise America does one way rentals if anyone was inclined to venture further than 5 or 6 hours.

    PM if there's any interest.

No one has to do the full 10 days.

Just plug in what works for you.

I've got and EC'r in for F/S/S so far.
