Yeah, tech talk, but I think this is better.

Why does my listening history not carry over from my Android phone to my home Mac pc? I thought this was all cloud based, and consistent over devices, like my Amazon Kindle. Am I doing something wrong?
The phone does see that I'm playing music on my Mac, and actually let's me control the music with pause, ff, and volume. So, there's some connection there.

Usually, you can control the PC by phone and phone by PC when both devices get connected. This issue is looking strange. I think you should have checked the connection settings in your phone for whether the control from other devices option has disabled or not.
