Half watching Phantom Menace in the background. And that JarJar character stills sucks worse than burnt bacon.

not going opening day/night, but did get tickets to see it in IMAX 3D on Sunday. Looking forward to it. Heard from someone who'd heard from someone (real direct connection, eh?) that had seen it that it's "up there with, if not better than, Empire Strikes Back". That's some high praise...

Uhmmmm, this is a good movie. And if you are a star wars fan, bring a change of underwear, you'll need it.

It was excellent. DARK, as Tipp sagely predicted. I caught the first 9am matinee I could Friday.

Not a kids movie. Onscreen death count is into the triple digits. No notable gore, but it's like they brought back the 'war' in 'star wars', people getting shot in the head, face, back, blown up by grenades, etc. So think about that before bringing the kids.

I really liked the inclusion of old characters. CGI was a bit spotty at times (lady at the end), but I'm glad they were there.

And for the Rebels fans, did you see the easter eggs for the show? Hint, the Ghost is there at Yavin, Chopper is in a scene or two as a background character, etc.

Really great movie. Brought back the feel of death and danger as real possibilities, instead of dumb luck like so many of the other movies had.

It's enjoyable and looks great. I thought it was a better movie overall than the Force Awakens. Ties in very well with the first Star Wars.

Loved the movie. Love the darkness of it. No over use of random thrown in aliens just for effect. CGI of the original characters from The first Star Wars was amazing. They stick to the plot and main characters. All in all, a great movie. Curious to see how they build off this one. I like where it could go. The "boarding party scene" at he end was all time. They need to make an R rated Vader based movie 🤞🏻

Great movie to watch in 3D on shrooms. Ask me how I know.

I saw it in 3D Imax, although not with the shrooms.
    I love 3D Tie Fighters!
Vader looked a little Casual Friday. Did anyone else notice that? Less plastic, no chain on his cape, etc. I know he also built up as the original series went on and they got a bigger budget, so maybe they did that on purpose.
Forest Whitaker character seemed pointless. And no light sabers. Alright, bring me 8!

Heard mixed review, saw it 3D IMAX whilst spending $1,800 on XL refillable popcorn/diabetes bucket, loved it. Fucking awesome! Who cares about Vader's fashion, he was fucking shit up in that one scene! The CGI faces of the characters from the '70s characters was pretty impressive. Greatly enjoyed.

Yup. Vader gave zero shits and was taking care of business. I loved that the empire felt unstoppable. Dark, powerful, menacing. Loved that they showed the Rebels have blood on their hands too and they're not just perfect white knights.

I was surprised this movie has a Disney stamp on it. Pretty brutal, but I loved it.
We're used to seeing entire planets or systems vaporized by Imperial weapons in a few seconds of screen time, they made it much more personal and not an afterthought.
Holy smokes, Vader was good too!

Yep, it was really fucking good. Definitely the best movie since the original trilogy. Will watch again.

It's funny to me that they made this entire movie just to fill the Death Star plot hole from "A New Hope."

That being said, I agree that's it's the best one since the original trilogy. The story was surprisingly good, and they found a way to make it fit into the existing movies. Didn't watch it in 3D or on shrooms, but I still had a good time!

I plan on watching on IMAX if I can see it in non-3D.

My eyes don't like 3D movies.
