    MPC #149: Rivers 4/6-5/2

I like rivers. Big rivers, small mountain rivers, even tiny little rivers that have been channelized and put underground in cities. April is a good time for rivers, as it is often at the time when snow starts to melt, and things start to rise. Some may be flooding and some might still be covered in snow. The river can be the focus or just an element of the composition. There's a river nearby everyone, so this should be accessible to all. Not that you need it but here's a couple of my shots to provide some inspiration.

    RULES:
    1. Photos must be taken within the time period of the contest.
    2. You may submit 3 photos during the competition.
    3. The contest moderator will choose 5 (or 6) photos to be voted on.
    4. The winner will get a happy feeling in his/her pants. (That is a rule by the way, not an option.)
    5. In the event of a tie, the contest moderator will have the deciding vote.
    6. Winner will be the contest starter/moderator for the next comp.
    7. The winner has 3 days to start a new contest or 2nd place becomes the new winner.
    8. And have fun.

Creek, brook, wash, arroyo, kill, fork or whatever you want to call it, as long as it has two banks a bed and some water it is OK by me.

Aim for the chopping block. If you aim for the wood, you will have nothing. Aim past the wood, aim through the wood.

Bump. A week to go and only 3 entries. I know that you all don't live in deserts.

Robe Canyon, South Fork of the Stillaguamish, WA

This rapid is called "Conversation", the river turns the corner and heads into this incredible canyon.

    "Hotel California"

Sometimes you have to stop, and take time to soak it all in. Beer is optional

    Finally went fishing in Montana

Scenic sunset on the Bitterroot from the takeout near Hamilton.

The magnificent Mo' below Craig. My dream home on the right. Big fish live here but they are finicky

The Beaverhead near Dillon. Fantastic fishing river! I got about 10 trout in the sweep of this picture.

Have you seen a one armed man around here?
