YT bikes has a new long travel 29ner in works. That could be the bargain of year considering the factory direct prices and wide variety of build kits they have on their other bikes.

All that shit you guys strap to your bikes? Does it make the bike feel like a brick? Dose it rattle around like a Huffy? Would love to have a way of carrying a multitool and a couple bars on my DH bike, but I can't imagine tolerating that on anything other than flow trails.
For bike park riding I have my multi tool in my pocket, too easy.

It would take a lot to give up my Scout but I'll be following this pretty closely. I really, really liked the DH bike I had but their geometry was pretty out of date. Hopefully they get it dialed on this and can keep the weight reasonable.
Pinion had a new version of their gearbox at Interbike. Smaller, lighter and cheaper than the previous model. Do want.

    Yo dfinn,

Hopefully they'll make a small frame eventually, or other manufacturers will make frames that use the Pinion gearbox because it sounds like everything it's hyped up to be.

Maybe I'm just being anal, but I'd add a chain to that bike before I rode it anywhere.

A month late but I would definitely give that thing a shot. I was for sure thinking about it after destroying a rear derailleur in whistler and having to spend +100 for a new one. Unfortunately they still went on the short side with reach for the L size. This was the reason I had to sell the G1 that I had too. I'm not sure what they have against modern bike geo.
