The older I get, the better I was thread...

Gepetos photo and Big Daddys comment in the ECRC thread prompted this "classic" photos thread.

Let see how hot you were back in the day. Post up your 15+ year old skiing pics showing your steeze before we even knew of that term!

Here's one from the late '90s on the Whitewater Glacier on Mt Jefferson in OR. I'm carrying tele gear. First time I ever saw AT gear and it was ricketier than the Rivas I was skiing!

Did not grow up in a skier family. Built a kicker on the property. Loved those Rossi CM's 1980ish

Trying to hold it together when the bottom dropped out. Also loved my 201 Fischer RC4's, not that I knew how to properly use them. Mid 1980's?

Early '80's. Black CB jacket, blue jeans on my Rossi STS's.

Probably one of the first 'backcountry' days back in 1989 up mt. hays, prince rupert b.c. Probably took a few outings to realize that you don't need a zipped up insulated jacket, toque on head to climb uphill on fishscale x/c skis in above freezing temps. I think the 'X' ski carry system worked well at first before skis sagged into the heel strike zone...had lots to learn then, still refining now...

This is one of my most favorite photos that I have. A friend and I hitch hiked from Steamboat to Crested Butte's free skiing week, spring 1997. We were ripped on shrooms the whole two days it took to get there.
