I guess what I remember is "hike to" terrain and just assumed that the chair didn't go to the summit.

Here's an old article on the Summit. We use to hike up the West Ridge from the top of Black chair. About a 45 min hike or 3423 steps.

I'm in the same boat, although never pulled off such a killer daffy like that.

    Older, not necassarily better.

This has been a fun thread. Not sure if I ever was any good, but I'm quite a bit older now...

This first set of photos was taken in 1968-69 at a "Little Waxers" event on Snow King in Jackson. My buddies were pissed because they beat me, but I was the one that got my picture in the local paper. :-)

This second set of photos is from a descent of Haystack Mountain, just south of Pocatello, Idaho. Around 1994, in April. No helmets, and no avy gear and we just strapped our alpine gear on the packs and climbed up to the top. It was early April after the snow had set up nice and hard. Great spring corn that day. The shots were with a very early model digital camera that we were experimenting with.

Nice skiing--but you're supposed to tilt the camera the other way--to make it look steeper, not flatter
