Root Boy Slim was a motherfucking crazy man. And super sweet, and I'd have to say a genius.
He was a year ahead of George Bush at Yale, and a Frat Brother to the Future Prez. I'm sure they were good buddies...well maybe not.

In those first two videos, I'd like to point out how professional they were. Root always had good musicians even when he couldn't pay them and bummed drinks off them all night. But there was something there and they came back.

I had only been there a few times, I lived in Georgetown back then and didn't have wheels. It was a classic place though. I was at Hank Dietle's the other day, that place is awesome and still exactly the same as ever.
Root Boy was really a brilliant guy along with being a total fuckup drunk and druggie. He was a total mess. But he put on great shows. And wrote great lyrics. The lyrics on this one may explain some things:
Love the Rootettes (his backup singers) on this one. The band kills it too.

In addition to usually being drunk, high or both, Root Boy was a diagnosed schizophenic. It wasn't easy being Root Boy. He apparently (according to the Wiki, I wasn't aware of this part) climbed the White House fence and tried t get into the White House, saying he was looking for the center of the universe.
