Only if A-Rod starting hitting switch and developed a crappy swing... Hate him all you want, the dude is 40 and hit 33 HRS last year with 86 RBI.

Ouch that Panda news is costly but I'm sure it's not as bad as other high dollar deals that have been made.

I think the Reds are still paying Ken Griffey Jr.

How many Sux fans are thinking "Theo wouldn't have done that deal"?

Just a FYI... There is some great baseball stuff on the Decades channel. Currently, The Dick Cavett Show has Hank Aaron, Mickey Mantle, Leo Durocher and umpire Tom Gorman. Great stories and candid talk that you will not hear of in todays baseball.

Happy days. Indians start in traditional fashion. A snow-out followed by a loss to the AL East. If they just wouldn't make April so hard it would t be that big of a surprise when they're in contention come September. Best staring 5 in baseball in my opinion - middling to fair in bat strength and run support. I'd be pissed if I was a starter with this shit for the 3rd year in a row.

Last season at the Ted. I will miss the tailgate scene for every single game. No other team does it like that. Off to the near-burbs next year. Sucks.

You keep on repeating that about the Indians rotation. It's not a magic incantation. They weren't the best in mlb last year and aren't projected to be so this year.

2003 was a long time ago. Run scoring is down, strikeouts are up. A lot. A 3.00 ERA isn't that impressive these days.

Best ERA the entire second half of the season and each individual month of the same time last year IIRC. I'll take their 5 over just about any other team's. They seem to have no problem producing Cy Young winners too, weird.

    Also, I'm not alone:

Their performance last year was not the best in baseball. Their performance this year is not forecast to be the best in baseball.

Stop jerking yourself off. It's a good staff, but it's neither historically good nor is it quite on par with the best in mlb right now.

I'm sure they look great to you, but it's a pitching-heavy era in MLB and when you insist that Cleveland's current rotation is a juggernaut, you look like a doofus. For real. Look at the numbers. Or watch the Mets. Or just pull your head out of your ass.

Ah, so you're a Met's fan? Or are you a Sox fan, that might explain the hostility.

I guess we'll see. We have 162 games to figure it out. I'll take their chances any day with their pitching. In a league of mediocrity, to have the 5 starters they do, you could do a lot worse.

EDIT: Oh, no! A quick google gave me another article that puts them at the second projected rotation in baseball this year! The horror!

    http://espn.go.com/blog/the-gms-offi.../post?id=12263

And "not on par with the best"? Surely you own a google? Here's another article saying they're projected #4! Ooops!

    http://m.mlb.com/news/article/160033...-mlb-offseason

    And another!

    http://mlb-teams.pointafter.com/stor...veland-Indians

    And another!

    http://ftw.usatoday.com/2016/01/mlb-...-nationals-mlb

Granted it's game 2 and anything can happen but that's the fun of these 'discussions' right?

    doofus.

I don't think theyre on par with the best, sorry. Mets Cubs and then Nationals are a big step above everyone else top to bottom and the talent at the top. Cleveland is in the next tier with STL and I think Houston.

Nit picking but that's what I think

No worries. That's why I said "in my opinion" in my OP. It wouldn't be baseball if we didn't have these forward looking discussions.
