    Blaze orange dog vest.

Recommend me a good / inexpensive blaze orange dog vest.

Shared the woods this weekend with a buddy and his two Bernese. They need vests as we saw two hunters in our travels.

Looking for vests to send him that will comfortably stay on two very active bushwacking Bernese for a number of hours. Less expensive is better but looking for a good product that will hopefully last.

I just got this one http://www.sierratradingpost.com/kur...prod-prod9219T
With a coupon code I think I paid $5, it doesn't provide any warmth as its a thinner nylon. So far it's lasted a month on a very active brown lab with no problems. The lights are kinda fun for letting her out at night. I figured for $5, if it lasts a season I got more than my money's worth. Ruff wear also makes one that's more of a softshell material, but it's $40

For non-winter the petsmart or petco brand orange blaze with reflective stripes has held up on my weim, we had the MIL sew some extensions onto the velcro under her belly as she grew into it.

For winter the ruffwear cloudchaser in blue stands out as well. Also has reflective striping.

I bought a cheap orange turtleneck at Walmart for a black dog and it worked fine for the past month

Why not just tie a bandanna around their necks?

That doesn't work very well with giant, furry dogs: the bandana tends to just get lost in the hair.

Source: I have a Newfoundland who from more than 30 feet away looks like a bear, first tried the bandana but then went with an orange vest without any brand written on it. It's held up for 3 years so far and the dog hasn't been shot, so I've got that goin' for me.

I was surprised how well a t-shirt fit on our dog. The base
was a little loose, but we were able to snug it up by tying a knot in it.
