Awesome edit PJ!
What a weekend. Always feels awesome to get up there and get some stuff done. Saw the guys do the pump test yesterday for the snowmaking system too, went off without a hitch! Staff is so on point this year, also met the new marketing guy and he seems freakin awesome- he's working on a lot of cool projects for the year and it was good to pick his brain. The hill itself is looking so damn good... Can't wait for opening day!!

It was definitely the tree I pointed out last weekend. Pretty sure I hurt him more than he hurt me.

Just noting that at this point in the preseason my take is that management is even more fucked up than usual...

I'm not sure what has led so many people to think that this year would be so much different from every other year?

Holy shit...it just keeps getting worser.
Are we allowed to complain yet, or does that violate the double secret stoke compact we all apparently agreed to by skiing at and supporting Magic?
Now it's not only owned by an asshole, but it seems to be most of the employee base (their general incompetence I had grown used to, but things are literally getting absurd).
[//quote]

Someone once told me that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over & over, and expecting a different result each time.
I seriously just don't understand why so many people were convinced (and as a result, now slightly butthurt) that things were going to be so much different this year. Same people, same place, same story. Where did the Great Expectations come from?
Magic is what it is. If you like it (I do) you support it with your $. If you don't like it, you'd (not you specifically) be better off spending that $ elsewhere, rather than turning red, then blue, and eventually dying holding your breath waiting for something to change fundamentally.

Maybe every year I remember through rose colored glasses, but even last year I thought things were slightly better than this year, and at least Sullivan knew which end of a snowmaking gun should point toward the trail. Now we have employees banning coaches/longtime supporters and going out of their way to alienate other people who make up the most important part of the customer base. It's literally a joke--they're clueless. The calendar and sales process are a shambles (beyond what it usually is), in case anyone cares.
I'm being serious about this--I could put together a group of HS kids today who would be more competent. Easily.
And for the record, until once or twice last year, I had never publicly complained about anything. I just think this is out of hand.
[//quote]

I'm with JGB on this one. I have decided not to worry about the "man behind the curtain" and just ski. Is it a shitshow? Damn straight, it is. But I'm not willing to man up and offer to work for the place to try to fix it and therefore, I'm not going to complain about it. Could I? Doubtful because TB is a control freak on top of being a very poor business man.
I love the vibe in the bar but if that goes away (seems like that is the goal of all of the BS), I'll just head down the road and hang out with friends and drink cheaper/better beer.
