    Must!

Here's a final (?) update (as emailed by Chris Joosen, then modified by me):

As we enter the final week before ESAW, if you plan to attend then please register now. Our move to a phenomenal resort (in the "Grand Ballroom") requires us to commit to a certain amount of coffee, dinners, etc. Historically, about a third of our attendees sign up in the final ten days, which can make planning with our new host very difficult. We’re already at last year’s final count, but please still spread the world to any potential newcomers that ESAW is the place to be for snow lovers as we bring people together to learn about snow, network with vendors, and pitch our avalanche questions to so many snow-smart people.

Lunch though this year will be a challenge with over 200 people, so we'll need to spread out. The hotel has two restaurants on site, Fabian's is five minutes away, and the AMC Highland Ctr is ten minutes, as is the Town of Twin Mtn w/ add'l options. You can of course bring your own humble brown bag to eat (in the not-so-humble "Great Hall"), and for the next couple days you can even order a bag lunch from the ESAW registration page -- staying on site will also allow you to visit any vendor displays that are already set up for our expo (in the "Conservatory").

And before then, join us Friday evening for entertainment and socializing at International Mountain Equipment in North Conway. Visit our website for the complete schedule.

Are you sure those were trees and not weeds? I might have planted something else a couple decades ago...

And good for you for volunteering up there. Spent many an awesome time in that hut.

Nah need to get the back sliding door replaced...weather sealing is going

However I wouldn't put it past VTFH to leave a 'present' on the back deck for me...

Another sign that ski season is nigh: TJ's Vintage Ale for 2015 is available.

Scored a case and, based on the first half-pint, another case is likely.

Took a risk on Killington today based on a Friday morning report of continuous snow.

We never discovered though whether that old snow made it through the weekend because it was blanketed by additional snow made over the weekend ... even though the resort didn't reopen?!?

Conditions at around 12:30 started off very punchy, but rapidly improved as we stayed in the same tracks.
With cooling temps later in the afternoon, conditions became quite nice.

(And yes, that's two of us in the picture, not one person with two different lengths/colors of the Hagan Cirrus ski and two different Dynafit race boots!)

Another part timer in the GB area - many winter weekends. Far from the gnar-est meat-hucking bro you'd meet from TGR, and currently on gimp squad. But I've been known to earn my turns and expect to be at it again this winter - if Jonathan leaves any snow for the rest of us.

From two posts above Jonathan....those may be two different skis and two different boots in the photo but what is going on with the shadow?

It totally looks like you got after it at Killington today

    I laughed!
Long term forecast looking very poor for early season skiing. Daily high temps at Killington will be 45-55 through Dec 3 if you believe the weather-guessers.
